About me
My name is Alicyn Roberson, but I strongly prefer Ali. A Colorado transplant but I have been teaching science at Kelly Walsh High School since 2013. I have two dogs that I adore, Millie and Graham (pause for the scientists to get it, mg). When I’m not working, I’m hanging out with my animals, visiting friends and family and loving on my nieces and nephews. I teach everything from summer school physical science, biology, environmental science and chemistry, to chemistry 1 (cotaught, regular and advanced), chemistry 2, AP chemistry, and an independent study chemistry course teaching students how to run a lab. My passion is to teach students that chemistry is fun and attainable for all levels. My classroom runs off vulnerability, and growth mindset. I ask students often to show me where they are in their learning progression, and then we do something about it in the moment in our classroom. Each student works at their level and over time achieves success and independence, while building a collaborative community in their classroom.
