About me
Julie Rieder’s two passions of science and education intersect in her role as Executive Director of the nonprofit Science Kids, an organization that gets kids outside, where great learning happens. Julie is a broadly trained ecologist, with a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from Northland College, a master’s degree studying the mating system of the endangered leatherback sea turtle at The Ohio State University, and a doctoral degree studying what makes a weedy invasive plant so good at being a weed from Utah State University. She has taught learners of all ages from young students in Science Kids classes to university students and life-long learners, and learns something herself every time she gets to work alongside Science Kids educators. Julie’s most recent work with Wyoming PBS creating Nature WY has been filled with heaps of joy.
